Marriage licenses may be obtained at the Town Clerk's Office. Please call 401-348-2507 to schedule an appointment.  Applications will be received in the Clerk's office no later than 3:30 p.m.

If both applicants live in Rhode Island, they may apply for the license from the city/town clerk's office of the residence of either applicant.
If only one applicant lives in Rhode Island, then they may apply for the license from the city/town clerk's office of the residence of that applicant.
If neither applicant lives in Rhode Island, the marriage license must be obtained a the city or town clerk's office WHERE THE CEREMONY WILL TAKE PLACE.  

Both individuals must appear in person. Each must bring a certified copy of their official government issued birth record with a government issued photo ID.

The fee for the marriage license is $24. Once issued, the license is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.
