Town Hall Online and Mail Services
The Town of Westerly Is Urging Residents To Use Online And Mail Services
In an effort to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), which is on the rise in Rhode Island, the Town of Westerly is doing its due diligence; therefore, residents and businesses are advised to take advantage of our Online and Mail-in services and to utilize the Town’s Drop Box located on the side of the Town Hall. The following services are available:
Zoom Meetings: The Town of Westerly has deployed an online and telephone meeting system to provide public access to public meetings. The system deployed allows for a user to view and interact with a meeting using the software application or to call in and listen and interact. Voter Information: Check your voter status and register to vote by visiting the following link: https://vote.sos.ri.gov/ or call the Board of Canvassers at 401-348-2503.
Marriage, Birth and Death Certificates: Please visit the Town of Westerly website at Westerlyri.gov; click on Government- Departments- Town Clerk- Vital Records. There you will find a fillable vital request form that can be printed and mailed to the Town Clerk's Office, 45 Broad Street, Westerly, RI 02891 or placed in the Town's drop box.
Land Evidence (Deeds, Mortgages, etc.): Visit https://WesterlyRI.gov/LandRecords to view and print a document. Land Evidence documents can be sent to us for recording at Westerly Town Clerk, 45 Broad Street, Westerly, RI 02891 or placed in the Town's drop box. They can also be recorded electronically though one of our vendors.
Probate: To obtain forms, please visit the following link: https://www.sos.ri.gov/divisions/business-services/probate-forms/. Probate filings can be submitted by mail to the Westerly Probate Clerk, 45 Broad Street, Westerly, RI 02891 or placed in the Town's drop box.
Business Licenses: Please call the Town Clerk’s Office at 401-348-2508 for information on opening a new business and to receive the appropriate forms.
Town Council Meetings: : Town Council is meeting remotely; meetings are being conducted through Zoom. There is no in-person participation. Anyone wishing to participate can access the meetings through the information posted at the beginning of each agenda. The meetings are video streamed on the Town of Westerly website through ClerkBase. Click on Agendas & Minutes on the home page. They are also televised through Channel 18 (Cox) and Channel 29 (Verizon).
Municipal Court: Payments can be made by mail, in person by appointment only, online, or placed in the Town's drop box. Please address payments to Municipal Court, 45 Broad Street, Westerly, RI 02891. Contact the Municipal Court at 401-348-2514 with questions or to schedule an appointment. If you wish to contest a ticket, please visit the Municipal Court web page for details.

Payment of Taxes or Water Bills
You have several options to make tax payments that do not require you to come in person:
By mail: You can mail payments to our lockbox service provider in one of the envelopes provided when you received your tax bill. Please make sure your coupon is included with your payment when you mail it here.
If you don’t have your coupon you can mail it to:

Please allow enough time when mailing your payments. They must be postmarked by the quarter end due date and received by the end of the 3rd business day of the grace period to be considered on time.
Drop Box outside of Town Hall: We have a 24-hour drive-up drop box located on the Episcopal Church side of Town Hall (along side the building on the driveway heading out to Broad St). We pick payments up from here daily. Any payment placed in the drop box after 2:00 p.m. will be processed on the next business day.
Credit Card Options: Point and Pay: They accept Mastercard or Visa. You will need your account number and pin number located in the box on the first page of your tax bill. https://Westerlyri.gov/TaxBill
Official Payments: They accept all credit cards as well as e-checks. You will need your account number and will need to know that Westerly’s jurisdiction code is 4910. You can either make a payment over the phone at (800) 272-9829 or online https://www.officialpayments.com/index.jsp

Building Permits: All building construction and trade permits can be found online using the E-Permit System. Please visit https://Westerlyri.viewpointcloud.com/ to sign up for an account and begin your permit application.
Zoning Board Applications & Zoning Permits: Please contact the Zoning Office at 401-348-2549 or email at cdimaggio@westerlyri.gov or nreichert@westerlyri.gov regarding all Zoning Board applications. For all Zoning Permits that do not require relief please submit them electronically through the building permit software listed above at https://westerlyri.viewpointcloud.com/. Please make sure to supply a site plan and attach a completed Zoning Application that can be found here.
Planning Board Applications: Please contact the Town Planner at 401-348-2549 or email at nletendre@westerlyri.gov regarding all Planning Board applications
Zoning Enforcement: Please contact the Zoning Code Enforcement Officer at avargas@westerlyri.gov for zoning enforcement compliance issues and complaints.
Minimum Housing: Please contact the Minimum Housing Officer at sfuller@westerlyri.gov for complaints regarding property code compliance issues and complaints.
