How Do I Use This Website

The WesterlyRI.gov website is intended to be a simple to use portal to the town government. Our goal is to make information available to everyone and provide services that increase community engagement and transparency.

The website has several easy to use tools that help us meet our goals.

The Homepage

The homepage for the Town of Westerly is designed to be the starting point for find information about the community.

The homepage can be accessed by going to the web address of WesterlyRI.gov or from any page on the site by clicking the image of the Town Seal in the upper left hand corner.
Main Categories & Mega Menus

All of the information on the website is broken into five categories: 

How do I... - Answers to questions
Government - Information about the town government and operations
Residents - Information that is useful to town residents
Visitors - Information that is helpful to visitors
Business - Information about doing business in town or with the town

These five categories are listed at the top of every page on the website. If you move your mouse over the category name a menu will appear with all of the information in that category.  If you click on the menu name or anything in the menu then a page will open to display the related information.

Navigation Buttons

There are five navigation buttons on the homepage and main pages of our site.  These buttons each connect to a different online service available from the town.

Report a Concern - This feature connects to a customer service module that tracks your concern from report to resolution. A user account is required to ensure that you are kept up to date on progress and when the the issue has been resolved.
Jobs - The jobs link connects to the current job openings with the town.
Notify Me - This service allows people to signup to receive updates as information is posted to the website. There are options to signup for town news flash posts, calendar events and other updates.
Bids and RFPs - This is where information about posted bids, requests for services and quotes can be found.
Agendas and Minutes - The town uses an online service to make meeting information available to the public.  This is where you will find that minutes, agendas and other related information.
Popular Links News Flash and Calendar

Toward the bottom of the homepage there are information based features.  This information changes as content on the site changes and as information is updated.

Popular links -  This is a list most popular items on the website.  

News Flash - Lists current news about the town. To view past News Flash posts click the View All button in the lower right.

Calendar - To view click the Calendar tab next to the News Flash tab.  A calendar will appear with current meeting and holiday information. To view other dates or calendar information click the View All button in the lower right.
Creating an Account

 The website has a service that allows anyone to create an account to have a more custom user experience.To access information on this site creating an account is not required.  Creating an account gives you access to subscription features and allows you to create a custom experience.

To create an account click the Sign In button in the upper right hand of any page on the website. A popup window will appear and at the bottom there is a button to Create Profile. You will be asked for basic contact information, agree to the terms & conditions and respond to a security verification (I'm not a robot)

After all the information is entered check the associated E-mail account for an activation link to complete the process.
