Building Office

The Building Office is the Town's code enforcement office. Rhode Island State Building Codes exist for the protection of the health, welfare and safety of all residents. In order to ensure that no violations exist, routine, daily, on site inspections are made while work is in progress. The Building Official and staff are available to any individual who is seeking advice or answers to specific questions.

Electrical & Plumbing Inspectors'

The Electrical and Plumbing Inspectors' duties are to enforce State Codes and to safeguard building and contents from hazards. Electrical and Plumbing inspections are done daily.

Permits

All permits are issued through this office, located in the lower level of the Town Hall, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Permit types are Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Demolition. There are some types of Building Permits that require Zoning approval before being issued such as single-family dwellings, garages, decks, sheds and pools.
