Dog Licenses

Prior to issuing the license, proof of current rabies vaccination is required.

NEW DOG LICENSES:

All dogs older than 6 months must be licensed with the Town Clerk's Office where the owner or keeper of the dog resides within 30 days of ownership.  New dog licenses can be obtained at the Office of Town Clerk, 45 Broad Street, Westerly, RI 02891:

1. Visit the Town Clerk's Office, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  OR 

2. Mail, or deposit in the DROP OFF BOX located on the side of the Town Hall, proof of current rabies vaccination along with the proper fee and a self-addressed stamped envelope.


DOG LICENSE RENEWALS:

Dog license renewals take place during the month of April. The fee for such license is be $6 for a neutered male and/or spayed female and $11 for an unspayed female and/or unneutered male.  A fine of $25 shall be collected along with the license fee and surcharge for each dog whose registration is not renewed during the month of April.

Visit the Town Clerk's Office or renew online.

Lost tags may be replaced upon payment of a fee of $1.
